Some of those items look fairly awesome too... the shirt would make the first 7 or so levels cake, and that shield is better then what my TT is using right now; at level 13 lol

I like how with paths you can earn more karma.

Has anyone ascended since then? Is it retroactive? I'd like to see how my HCO and HCB runs added up on the karma if they do...

Don't know if you noticed the items are quest items so you'd lose them after the one ascension. So only really a big deal if you're not always going to be saving karma to spend on skills like me :)

Suppose getting one of those would make a bad moon run significantly less painful. I assume those items are usable in hardcore/badmoon anyways?

all the pet store items are only 1 karma a piece. so there's really no reason not to snag something. i just started a BM run and it allowed me to use the hat a snagged. i think they added this since your HC rewards now drop from the NS. So you won't be using them on the following run anymore :(

To answer tyred's question; no, it is not retroactive. i had something like 298 karma when i ascended, but i burnt every instant karma i had before i ascended. I just wish the reward for a bees hates me run were better...

Notes

    Before the Valhalla revamp on May 16, 2011, the letter also contained any consumables or equipment earned in the previous run. They now drop from the Naughty Sorceress during the run that you earned them on.

Surely the astral equipment rewards are about as good as the previous reward? And even doing a normal softcore no path ascension gives you enough karma to perm the skill and get some equipment for the next run if you want.

And then of course you do get the old award eventually still ;)
