i could use the alveoli if no one else wants them

edit:
and after talking to a few ppl, the skill item goes for 200k-250k...300k if you're lucky. but if we sell that after every run... we should be able to offset the cost of opening the tube

edit:
i sold it for 250k which has been added to the clan stash... this run is officially completed. We'll need about 4 or 5 more big bundles for the next run. I already purchased one. that run took 501 turns... so i'm assuming we'll only need 5 total

Quick update for everyone interested. We completed our first profitable slime tube run yesterday :) We finished it in exactly 370 turns, awarding us 2 caustic slime nodules. Now we'll be able to fund more hobopolis runs as we master the tube repeatedly :p

We've run like... 4 of these now. Gal goes through all the pain and agony, and I clean up the mess at the end with El Juan. I think we've scored a total of 17 alveoli, 8 nodules, and the gear and skill each time too. So, we're not doing too badly.

A few more of these from an uberbuffed El Juan, and maybe we'll open hobopolis again.

This could be a lot cooler if we had more people though...

I've had a bit of a hiatus from KoL. Mostly because Mafia stopped working and I was too busy to figure out why :P Fixed it the other day so I'm available to lend a helping hand til I hit level 30 and ascend :)

I don't really know how I can be useful though unless you open hobopolis again :\ Once I get round to ascending I'll try to play my multi some more so that I can carry on helping out

I've been thinking about opening the slime tube to all for a run. There's been some interest amongst the clan. It would be a chance for others to get some slime covered gear if they're interested :p just a heads up so that those interested can post here and not miss out due to an early ascension :)

I'm still missing slime gear but I'm also pretty low an liquid cash at the moment (as per usual :P)

How much does it actually cost to set up a full set of slime gear?

depending on whether you want the cudgel and shield or the scythe... the rusty components will run around 100k at current mall prices, but that's everything all at once. After that a nodule for each piece, and those go for about 200k each.

Head: Rusty diving helmet > slime covered helmet > corrosive cowl

Hand: Rusty grave robbing shovel > slime covered shovel > villainous scythe (2h)

Hand: rusty piece of rebar > slime covered club > pernicious cudgel
off-hand: rusty old lantern > slime covered lantern > grisly shield

Pants: rusty metal greaves > slime covered greaves > corroded breaches

Accessory: rusty compass > slime covered compass > malevolent medallion

Accessory: rusty chain necklace > slime covered necklace > baneful bandolier

Anyone up for some slime runs?

I've just hit level 30 so if the answer is no I'll just ascend :P

I'm interested, if it's not too late.

In fact, I opened it last night with my own meat, trying to do a slow run to get chamoix bundles and convert some of my rusty gear to slime-covered gear, only to accidentally squeeze the first gall bladder I saw.  Oops.  Dx

My level 30 is still unascended due to real life stuff getting in the way so yeah I'm still up for some sliming.

There should be plenty of meat in the clan store for runs. :)

Well, I did what I could for today, already.  I've been eating/drinking some, but not all, of the food/booze drops in there, as gross as they sound, for a little added ML to speed it up.  I might try tackling some more of it in 2-3 hours, depending on when maint is.

Gal or Tyred - do you guys both have the slime gear?

Fancy hooking us up with some nodules? :P

Pretty sure the nodule gears are not good to use against the Mother Slime, since it raises ML and therefore how hard she hits and how high her hp goes, but I don't know for a fact.  What I do know is that she's the only thing left in there and kicking my tail to Hey Deze with all her slimiy powers. I think her HP should be around 2k-3k with all the turns it took me to get to her, according to her hp formula on the wiki.  That being said, I only have moderate or slight slime resistance and I have trouble hitting her.  I'm going to try buffing up as much as possible and attempting it 2-5 more times, and then I think I'm going to ascend, assuming I can still get some loots from this after I do.

Edit: Wow, I drank a ton of muscle-boosting potions to take advantage of my shield skill as a TT and to boost my damage, and found out the hard way Mother Slime has that damage adaptation that makes her mostly immune to a specific type of damage after taking 500 or more damage from it.  Well, I can only do 1 or 2 types of damage, so unless you guys think I might be able to Nuclear Breath her and then Turtle of the Seven Tails for the win, I don't see any possible way *to* win.

Edit again:  Yep, the Nuclear Breath + Spleen abuse + Turtle of the Seven Tails + tons of muscly saucepots and other goodies resulted in victory.  Hooray, my first Mother Slime down.

Edit x3: We got, as loot, a Slime-Soaked Brain, and a Hardened Slime belt.  Both of them seem pretty neat, but I have no idea what they are mainly good for.  I don't have a preference, and I'm wondering if the skill one (the brain) can be somehow sold to other players?  I seem to remember reading that somewhere.

@GPH: I do not have any slime gear. The only character I have entered the Slime Tube with is El Juan, and he is just buffed to the freakin' max to be able to take Mother Slime down in about 3 turns.

@Skeeter: You are correct in saying that adding any ML to Mother Slime is a bad idea. The Slime Hates It gear is NOT recommended for Mother Slime fights at all, because she will pwn the ever-loving-hell out of you.

For future reference, El Juan is still stocked and ready to go for another 34 Mother Slime fights, should they be warranted. He has just about every big buff in the game on him to effectively increase most of his stats by about 800% and he's got all the high-level spells to dispense damage in huge amounts. Just give me a shout and I'll see what I can do.
