Moveable Feast
« on: November 03, 2009, 03:41:20 pm »
New IOTM.

...similar to Gals polyp thread really. I can't decide if this item is awesometastic (never having to get pull fam specific equipment for each individual fam again + a short term buff useable on multiple different fams a day) or kinda rubbish (I usually stick to one fam anyway and I'll almost certainly forget to use the buff).

Considering I'm 50/50 on if this is a good item I can't see myself trying to get one. Anyone else care to convince me otherwise or going to take  the plunge themselves?

I first saw this thing and thought it was completely and totally awesome.

After having thought about it, I have parred back my original assessment. It looks like a cool item, but I don't know if it would be worthwhile to have. GPH makes some good points about it's functionality, and you never would have to worry about familiar specific stuff again, but I don't know. My enthusiasm has waned.

That being said, I've only ever donated to the game three times in total. One for my Penguin (don't ever leave me), one for the Flaming Ice Ball thing, and once for the Navel Ring of Navel Gazing that now sits on El Juan and is worth more than I could ever hope to be... So, in essence, I won't be shelling out for this one.

There may be some use for it later, but given that I can pretty much kill anything in one hit or dodge sufficiently in softcore, I'll never need the damage. And I'll probably have enough buffs going on my familiars that using this thing won't help me too incredibly much.

All in all, I'm 50/50 on it too. If I donated more, I might spring for it, but I don't, and my cash is not high enough to purchase one of these things straight out yet.

meh... i definitely will not be buying it. it sounds like the extra fam buffs would be pretty nifty, but like you, i know i would forget to use them. so i would be blowing a mr. a on +5 to fam weight with occaisional elemental attacks :p Now that i think about that i've already done that when i used my MMG winnings to buy a plastic pumpkin bucket which i use on every fam i have out. I would reccomend getting that one over the feast if you want a fam item and won't ever use the buff from the feast. On top of the +5 lbs and the elemental attacks... the bucket adds +13% to items as well.  and the bucket is only going for 6.8 mil right now.
