You acquire an item: Discount Telescope Warehouse gift certificate

Beat the basement today. Took me long enough. KOLMafia helped a TON. Also, hoarding roasted marshmallows from Dependence Day is a genius idea if you have enough time to waste just banking those. +500% of everything is worth it in my book.

Rock!

I never knew that bug existed. Huh.

Well, there's always ways around the Wossname conundrum (dropping HC, looking at the wiki to learn the super-fast way of doing it).

Lomaz, I think it is funny that you think it is easier. The game has become so complex (in my mind) that I have all but given up playing it.

I have been struggling to get the LVL 30 trophy for this class and I've been basementing in my spare time. I also find time to pick up each of the new ITOMs if they so interest me. I am beginning to like the aspects of this new one already.

Anyway, enjoy your time there and drop me a line if you need anything. I may or may not get back to you in a timely fashion.

I see how it is. A guy gets stuck in the cage, and everyone else just takes advantage of that. They don't think in the least about saving him or anything. No, he's got to chew his way out and burn up some adventures! :P!

Loot division should be pretty easy, since Gal did like 95% of the work. I threw together the calcs though:

Galeesa: 6.4 items
GPH: 4.0 items
Me: 0.4 items

So, actually, GPH did more work than I thought. Since you guys both start with "G" it gets a little hard to differentiate you two sometimes.

Anyway, I don't need anything, so split what you want.

El Juan is still buffed to the gills to take down Mother Slime when necessary.

I have nothing of anything.

Here are my calculations

Player    Hobopolis    Hot    Cold    Stench    Spooky    Sleaze    Bosses?    Total        Item Dist
Galeesa    309    0    0    0    0    0    6    429    7.0%    0.6
GPH    941    0    417    0    0    0    0    1441.4    23.5%    1.9
Tyred    1748    431    0    448    583    496    0    4097.6    66.9%    5.4
This is based on kills in hobopolis. Accordingly, it would grant Gal 1 item, GPH 2 items, and me 5.

You guys can decide what you want. I can send the spreadsheet if necessary.

Kingdom of Loathing / Re: First HC run ever...

First, advice:

Go seal clubber for your first HCO (if you haven't already), the shiny there will be most helpful. Your first skill pretty much has to be the L15 skill to be able to smash and create wads, which are a godsend in HCO.

The first run is probably going to suck. A lot. I would recommend saving adventures for stat days to make sure that you get everything you can.

HC is a much different animal than SC because it is just you against the kingdom. High level and awesome weapons do not immediately abound, so check the shop for a few things if you are struggling to do damage.

Hair spray is your friend. Use your friend.

As for BM. I went through the BM loop and it was not too terribly bad for the muscle classes or the moxie classes, but the myst classes will make you cry. They're miserable. I don't even really know how to adequately express how awful those runs are. That is why I took a long, long break there.

Fortunately, you're going through on a newbie character anyway and you've not had a whole lot of ascending experience on any character (while I waited until about ascension number 40 to start BM, which was bad. I loved all my shiny skills), so it might not be too bad for you.

As for the clan leadership, you weren't even the "leader" when I got it. It went from Trerro to me. So, :P.

@Ice: We did have a "guild" or a "clan" of sorts in there. It was actually nice for the while we had some activity there. A couple events pretty well drained me though. I'm like Trerro, an avid f2p'er, and the p2p in Runescape killed me.

Other than that, Runescape was actually kind of good, whatever Trerro may think :P.

I have been following tribal wars on and off for about a year now, just keeping tabs on that little world, and I have witnessed your slow and inexorable march across the world.

Congratulations for being a "member" of "RA" to make it to the end, even if none of the rest of us did and we offered you no semblance of support after a while.

Enjoy your premium points. Will you use them?

Ok, who has got what loot? I'd like to distribute this without pissing people off...

I just hit level 100 this afternoon.

As for MP, that test sucks hard, especially if you are not mysticality. However, the best ways to get MP are probably the battlefield drops (carbonated soy milk) or the bottles that drop in the bathroom. If you've got the cash, load up on a bunch of those.

The problem is that the basement is really cost-prohibitive. There's not much point in actually getting down through it unless you really want to. I want to get my piece of the telescope because I really don't want to ascend just yet and I want my trophy! I'll probably break up some of that with clan basement stuff too, since I'm only doing maybe 20 basement levels a day. There's a crapload of stuff to do down there, but it is a pain to keep everything up...

Nice!

I'm going for that one and basementing now. I hate, and I mean HATE the level twelve quest (and most of eleven), so I'm going to just level for a little while and enjoy myself.

13 levels to go...

Get the new JuJu mask instead. VCrisis was so last year.

If you "really" need me to, I can buy it. Although 30 mil is a lot to throw down...
