Just wondering if/when we will have access to the old ra.dycyn.com's posts. I know that you want all new posts here, but it would be very nice to be able to reference old posts back on the old RA. Also, will there be any link to the new risingallinace.net URL from the old ra.dycyn.com, so old members from there can find us?

he brings a completely valid point... i know there's a few things that i want brought to this site... like everyone's RA b-day. if that's possible

Pretty sure this forum software does the B-day thing too, as long as you enter it into your profile of course.
As far getting the old site up in archive mode, I'm going to do that soon.

I think Gal means specifically the date on which you first joined RA.

For me or DyCyn... that info is lost to the ages, as we were both in long before dycyn.com. For everyone else though, you can look it up on the archive once it's up.

quite honestly, though i love the history of the RA, dont you guys think it's time to let some of that stuff go? i mean, it's been almost 2 years now since some of that stuff was posted.
i think it's a good idea to archive it, but i personally (not as an admin) would recommend focusing on welcoming new people instead of holding onto old posts. i mean, how would it make you feel if you where a new member here and all people talked about was stuff from years ago? intimidated a little?

I agree with Aamer to point "did that come out my mouth"
it would be intimidating to a new member to see chats and post from years before they joined,but there are some thing's that should get a special home on are new forums. case in point the Breakdown retirement from ra artical from the ra's 1st paper,possabley a dedication to the ra's for father's that started ra and brought it to where it is today,and the drunkin loby post,i love that!

Ok, I think I'm going to do the following:
1. Reactivate the dycyn.com forums in read-only mode.
2. Link them on this site.
3. Get an FAQ up explaining a few things like where "loby" came from.
4. Get a set of history pages up.
Help with #3 and #4 would be much appreciated - I don't mean on the code side of things as that's pretty trivial, but on actually writing the documents. I'm going to start threads for both of these.
