What part of the computer controls most how games run? Is it a combination or is it mostly centered in one component? I'm talking games like WoW, Eve, minecraft, League of Legends.
-
The 2 most important are the CPU and the video card (the video card is usually the more important of the two in a 3D game), although the RAM, network card, and hard drive all play a lesser role.
Also, don't forget the fans... my laptop gets periods of huge lag in games it's way over spec for because the damn thing overheats.

So CPU, Video card, RAM, and cooling are the biggest? What would be adequate RAM for most modern games?
-
usually any more than 2gb of RAM is enough.
-
And is that full settings? Or halfway decent ones?

bah, who needs nice looking graphics, as long as i can tell what that thing infront of me is, i'm fine 8)
(yes, i play on low settings a lot.)
but it's more like 2gb for medlow, 3gb for med, 4gb for medhigh, and any more than that for high

I'm looking at getting a new laptop, but I don't want to break the bank.
