Suddenly, everyone in the world has an IQ of 400. All menial labor disappears - we have machines for that now. Resource efficiency increases to the point that even the poorest citizen lives like a king does now. 1% of the world's land can now feed all of its people - no one goes hungry. Thanks to fusion power and cleanup technology, not only is there no more pollution being made, but what's already up there is cleared. We fix the ozone layer while we're at it. Everyone thinks for themselves, and now with no wars over religion or resources, there's pretty much just plain no war. No one ages... and yet there's no overpopulation - as the population goes up we develop underground cities, arcologies, and finally, simply expand into space - and there we encounter various alien species, trade technologies, and advance even faster! It appears to be utopia.

Unfortunately, no one's moral alignment changed, only their intelligence. Your common gang leader is now a supervillian. Your manipulative, evil, political type has no real political power anymore... but he finds a way to get it back. Weapons... very, very powerful weapons. Devices of destruction are created on a scale the greatest of sci fi authors can't even imagine today. Inevitably, someone is immoral enough to actually use these weapons. 99% of the population of all species in our galaxy die out - and most of the rest are on planets where life is no longer sustainable. The few survivors band together, desperately hoping they can rebuild civilization... only time will tell if they succeed.

I wish friendly aliens would land here.

I'd wear all black so it's nearly impossible to see me against the night sky. I'm pretty much nocturnal anyway, so that's not actually a huge restriction.

A package arrives in the mail. You open it and find a weird crystal inside. You pick it up and it glows for a second, then breaks. 3 days later, you walk outside and see a 12' tall golem made purely out of steel standing there. It looks at you and says, "your orders, master?"

Other Games / Got a browser game?
« on: October 15, 2009, 07:08:33 am »
I spent the last few hours looking for a decent browser-based game and... well, tonight I encountered suck of a magnitude that would shock Hugh Hefner. :p

That being said, does anyone know a decent game to get an RA clan/guild going in? We need a game that:
1. is actually fun and has some amount of depth to its gameplay. It doesn't have to be amazing, but it needs to be something a good number of us will actually want to log into on a regular basis.
2. has long term appeal. It takes a few months to get a clan fully established, so we need something that isn't going to die out - or just plain get old - in a few weeks.
3. is a game where clans are actually beneficial to have. If they're pretty much necessary to get anywhere, even better.
4. is a game that's either new enough that we can still establish a clan, or designed in such a way that starting one in an established game isn't an exercise in futility.
5. doesn't have virused ads, a cash shop that completely breaks the game, or anything else that makes what would otherwise be a good game unplayable.

That's an impressive mummy from ancient times... but even that guy is scared of the mimes!

I'd probably Google it, but yeah, I just realized when this site was launched a couple of days ago that dycyn.com was never updated so send people here even though our first site at risingalliance.net was launched in early '08. :P

I updated both the homepage and the forum index page, so anyone who pulls up the old site actually finds us now. Sorry for the confusion, and welcome back. :)

You've been turned into a house cat, but retain your full intellect (but NOT the ability to speak), and will return to normal in 48 hours. What do you do?

A skilled martial artist is an opponent to fear... but I don't think he can take on a bear.

I do, changing nothing.

(I don't say you reject science because you're Christian - there's been a LOT of scientific advances by Christians - Newton probably being the most notable example, and the majority of Christians do, in fact, accept modern science. I say you reject science because you think the freaking world is 6000 years old, which flies in the face of just about every branch of modern science (and hell, some of the ancient ones - even the Mayans knew the world is the older than that), and it's a claim that can be disproven dozens of ways.)

If you want to discuss this further, please take it to debates - I only posted what I did because of your "I wish Trerro didn't think animal intelligence exists" one.

I wish we had a Mars colony.
